HOW TO REGISTER FOR COURSES
How to Register for Courses:
- if you are a current Rutgers-Camden Student
- if you are a current Rutgers University (other than Camden) Student
- if you are a Former Rutgers Student
- if you are Non-Rutgers Student or from another university
- if you are a High School Junior or Senior
- if you are registering through Workforce/Unemployment
CURRENT RUTGERS UNIVERSITY – CAMDEN STUDENTS
Continuing students from Rutgers University – Camden should use the WebReg system http://webreg.rutgers.edu beginning on Monday, February 17, 2014 for Summer Session registration. Instructions for Webreg may be found on that page. Students may also register in person at the Registrar's Office during the late registration period. Please pay attention to the information regarding rules for Adding, Dropping, and Course Loard Limits when registering for courses. NOTE: Law students should contact the Law School directly for registration instructions.
CURRENT RUTGERS UNIVERSITY STUDENTS NOT FROM CAMDEN
Continuing students from Rutgers University may use the Webreg system http://webreg.rutgers.edu beginning on February 17, 2014 for Summer Session registration. Instructions for WebReg may be found on that page. Course numbers from New Brunswick or Newark colleges may not be properly recognized by Webreg as pre-requisites for Camden courses. In that event, students may need to do a Pre-Requisite Override on the Camden Campus. Please also note that courses from Camden, while they will figure into the credits toward graduation and into the student's GPA, will not necessarily fulfill a specific requirement for a program at another school of Rutgers. It is recommended that students verify with their program directors whether any given course taken at another college within Rutgers will apply toward their particular program. This is especially true for math and science courses. Please pay attention to the information regarding rules for Adding, Dropping, and Course Loard Limits when registering for courses.
FORMER RUTGERS STUDENTS
A student who previously attended Rutgers during the regular year, but did not attend in Spring of 2014, may still be approved for courses in the Summer Session ONLY. Re-admission for the Fall or Spring requires a separate re-enrollment process through the student's regular Academic Dean's Office. Registration begins on February 17, 2014. Students may use the Visting Students Online Registration to register or the hard copy Summer Session Registration Form. Please note that students will need to know their RUID to register. Non-Rutgers students may use the Visting Students Online Registration to register or the hard copy Summer Session Registration Form. The student should confirm with his or her college that the selected courses/credits are transferable to his/her home institution. Rutgers cannot be responsible for the amount or kind of credit granted by other institutions for courses taken at Rutgers. Rutgers courses are accredited and generally are accepted by other institutions, but individual courses may or may not meet the specific requirements of the student's program in their home institution. Course catalog descriptions are listed with the courses on this website. For any additional information, including the syllabus, the student should contact the instructor directly. Non-Rutgers students registering for Graduate level courses will require permission of the director of that graduate program prior to regsitration. Non-Rutgers students taking upper-level Arts and Sciences, Nursing, or School of Business courses should provide a transcript to verify that they have the appropriate academic background for the course(s). Transcripts do not have to be official, and may be either mailed, faxed, or emailed to the Summer Session Office (contact info above left) Please pay attention to the information regarding rules for Adding, Dropping, and Course Loard Limits when registering for courses. .
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
In some cases, high-achieving high school junior or senior students may register for Summer Session courses. Students must be at least sixteen years of age by the time the course begins to be considered. Enclose with the Registration Form a letter of recommendation from the student's guidance counselor (or other school official), a copy of the student's High School transcript, and a personal statement of purpose indicating the student's preparedness for college level work and interest in attending Summer Session. All of this documentation should be sent to the Summer Session Office, Armitage Hall First Floor, 311 North Fifth St, Camden, NJ 08102. Eligible unemployed individuals who have obtained Workforce papers from the county Office of Unemployment and that are interested in taking courses in the Summer Session are required to meet with the Registrar prior to registering for classes. Please contact the Registrar's Office at 856-225-6053 for more details. Registration is on a space-available basis and is usually done on the first day of class. Workforce students may not pre-register for courses.
